Ok, I'm about to start going up the rungs in OWL. It says veggies are the first rung. I would like to try tomato soup, which it says to eat in moderation. Even though I don't have a can in front of me I'm sure it loaded with carbs. How does that fit in with just adding 5 more carbs? Or am I supposed to make homemade soup? Any ideas? Recipes?

I would think that you could look for the lowest-carb tomato soup you can find at the store and use water instead of milk to make the soup. You want to introduce only 5 carbs at a time of something new to keep you from experiencing excess hunger or cravings.

Some folks have tomato sensitivities as well, and those can actually cause tomato cravings while causing the resulting allergy symptoms. If you miss tomato soup, you could also try a small serving of V-8, and follow this with a high-fat food, in order to keep your blood sugar stable.

You can also use tomato paste to make your own tomato soup with. That way it doesn't have the sugars added in. I don't recall tomato soup being on the veggie list, though, so be careful with it. Tomatoes are technically a fruit and they are more likely to cause you problems than most other salad vegetables.
