Thursday already!!

How are you doing today?

Are you thinking about and planning for the weekend yet?

If so, what's the plan and do they involve some that'll get you moving? :)

Not feeling as bloated today! Woo Hoo!!

Yesterday my son's school was doing BMI checks on the kids... I dont have the exact number with me but my son was 'at risk of being overweight'. He's not anywhere near being fat... he still has a baby belly but he's fine!!

Does this look like a fat kid???

Anyway, I told him what the report said and I'm going to insist that he walk with me.... it'll be good for both of us and I'll have a walking partner!

No he doesn't look overweight at all...but the walking will definitely muscle to body fat ratio. When my DS was that age, he would go through that growth in height, then gain weight, then height and back and forth...

What? They're starting to instill overweight fears in children at that early of an age?

He doesn't look over weight at all but walking with you if good exercise.

Kids are not allowed to be kids anymore... they are not even allowed to have cupcakes or anything that is not nutrition for their holiday parties!!! That is our government at work!!!! Nutrition needs to be instilled in the home...

Here something that is funny.... I decided to find a website and figure it out for myself...

when I put in that he is 12 years old it says...

A 62-inch tall, 116-pound, 12-year-old boy has a body mass index (BMI) of 21.3, which is at the 86th percentile for age. This suggests that this boy is at risk of being overweight.
A healthy weight range for this particular boy would be from about 86-pounds to 115-pounds.

He'll actually be 13 on the 25th of this month... 14 days! So, I would definitely consider him a 13 year old! And this is what it says...

A 62-inch tall, 116-pound, 13-year-old boy has a body mass index (BMI) of 21.3, which is at the 81st percentile for age. This suggests that this boy is at a healthy weight.
A healthy weight range for this particular boy would be from about 89-pounds to 119-pounds.

So..... I think he is just fine!!! He's a very active kid... always outside running around with friends... but we're still going to walk!
